A  NOVEL  IN  VERSE  BY  RIVER  JACKSON

December, 2098.  Earth has had it rough since the Apocalypse of 2030.  The weather sucks.  A lifeless, toxic ocean covers all except the remnants of some isolated mountain ranges, where the inhabitants must live by night.  Sun has become humanity's worst enemy.  Now thirteen Rocky Island sailors brave the Mississippi Sea and land here on the Appalachian Isles, discovering a culture vastly different from their own.  Amazingly, they manage it entirely in rhyming couplets of iambic pentameter.

THE ISLANDS OF THE MOON is offered free of charge, to maximize its readership and promote rhyming verse in our literary culture.  You can download it RIGHT NOW without a credit card.  The print version runs 401 pages, the eBook version 495.  If you print it, be sure the "NO automatic page scaling" option is clicked.  The print version can also be read without printing it out, on a large-screen computer.  For reading on smaller devices, we recommend the eBook version.  (We've seen it on Kindle and iPad--even on a dinky little iPod touch!).  Neither version allows the reader to adjust the font size.  This is because the text is written in rhyming metrical verse, and any further enlarging of the font would throw the line-endings out of whack.  The font is already set for the maximum size that can accommodate the longest line length (57 characters).
